A dynamic force of the downtown New York art scene of the early 1980s, Keith Haring quickly rose to international fame with his influence on art, culture, and fashion continuing to grow ever since. The immediacy and directness of his imaginary and iconic symbols he created to convey essential concepts, peace, love, equality, and compassion, have become a universally recognized visual language. Keith was an artist activist who frequently used his art to speak about social issues.
