This set of cards was available only via direct order. It never sold in retail outlets. Produced by Carta Mundi, with a copyright date of April 1980, each suit was given to one of 4 popular UK artists: Stanley McMurtry MBE, known by his pen name Mac, is a British editorial cartoonist. McMurtry is best known for his controversial work for the British Daily Mail newspaper from 1971 to 2018. Manchester born Cookson saw his first cartoon published in 1965, in the Daily Mirror. Cookson’s cartoons were published in many publications including the London Evening News, the Sporting Life, the Daily Express, the Sun, the Mail on Sunday, The Oldie and The Spectator. He was also a regular contributor to Punch. Michael John Heath is a British strip cartoonist and illustrator. He has been cartoon editor of The Spectator since 1991. New Zealand born, Keith Waite has been referred to as one of the greatest-ever social and political cartoonists in Britain. The deck contains 52 coards and 4 jokers.
