Delightful and rare deck of cards made by Carta Mundi for McDonalds and featuring Coca Cola beverage products that have been sold at McDonalds for many years. The World Web Playing Card Museum indicates that the cards were made for “Portugal (McDonalds) Football 2004,” presumably a reference to Euro 2004, the European football (soccer) championship of 2004, hosted by Portugal; however, while McDonalds was a sponsor of the tournament, there is nothing I can find on the box or cards to confirm the relationship of these cards to that event. The cards are non-standard with wonderful, amusing illustrations on the court cards of athletes consuming McDonalds foods and Coca Cola drinks. The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 4 Jokers. The cards are slightly small bridge size, measuring 87mm x 56mm, and come in the original box.
