These playing cards were produced by art collective A.Bandit (Derek DelGaudio and Glenn Kaino) for their show, The Space Between, in 2011. The back design is based on a sketch by Ren̩ Descartes, which illustrated the phenomenon of Alexander’s band, the space between a double rainbow. Originally these cards were only available at their show, however, a small supply of them were eventually distributed and quickly sold out. In 2012, they were featured in Dan and Dave’s Variety Box, a curated collection featuring 12 of the finest decks of playing cards in the world. These decks are traditionally cut and only 2,000 were produced.
