This deckis a sequel to the Origins Playing Cards decks, which were voted United Cardists Best Overall Deck of 2014.

The Shadows campaign features two new decks and a special hand crafted Black Label edition, inspired by rare 16th century originals. The goal for this campaign is again to produce premium quality decks.

The Rouen 1567 deck is the Shadows companion, a carefully crafted recreation of the original historic deck, with full body one way court cards that inspired the playing cards we know and love today. It will be printed by the United States Playing Card Company.

Religion was a major theme in 16th century art and the Shadows deck is inspired by the story of Adam and Eve, and the choice between Innocentia (innocence) and Cognitio (the acquisition of knowledge). Which will you choose?

The Rouen 1567 deck will feature:
A premium quality tuck case with embossing. The cards will feature recreations of extremely rare historic cards from 1567. These cards are drawn as closely as possible to the originals, with the addition of indices for playability. The subtle back design is a design based on historic references as the originals had plain backs.
