Axis is a deck of cards inspired by Neo-Tokyo design, flipbook artwork and colors commonly associated with 90’s and early 2000’s spy movie artwork, such as The Matrix.

Not only is Axis a deck of cards with a unique approach to design and conceptualism, it’s a deck of cards with a twist. Literally.

When designing Axis, we had to make sure we executed the conceptual part of the design in a way that wouldn’t take away from the overall smoothness of the deck in motion.

The concept is simple: create a deck that when riffled through can rotate a globe 360 degrees, representing the full rotation of earth in a complete year. In executing this, we mixed the conceptual part of the deck with the actual design. Flaunting a Neo-Tokyo esq design, with a bright green and deep blue contrasting color palette, Axis brings a flashy concept to life with a completed and styled back design.
