The Exquisite Fortuna was released during the 2019 52 Plus Joker Convention in Charlotte. It came as a surprise as Bill Kalush of Expert Playing Card Company introduced it as a collaboration with Giovanni Meroni of TWI (Thirdway Industries). The innovation of this deck is how three layers of hot foil were stamped onto the back design: (1) holographic foil, (2) gold foil, and (3) red foil. According to Kalush, the technique was developed in ten years’ time due to the difficulty of the hot foil precision: three plates individually stamped onto each card, making it extraordinarily difficult to line up. The downside of this is, of course, the several failures of the printing process and resulting in the low print run which is less than 500 decks available. However, this is an ultimate piece of innovation that would be cherished by hardcore collectors and is due to become one of the rarest and highly sought out decks in the future
