2020 DOTY Award Nominee: ‘Best Ace’, ‘Best Joker’, ‘Best Rookie Deck’

Inspired by old engravings and fairy tales about mysterious magic castles with dragons and thestrange creatures that inhabit them, we’ve created a custom deck of playing cards:“Dark Kingdom”. The dark design alludes to mystery and power and was developed by the artist Evgania Zhade.

A legends foretell of a foolish king who lost his kingdom to a cunning and evil wizard who was fond of the night and plunged the kingdom into darkness. The people began to spread rumors about this kingdom and other royals wanted to see it for themselves.

The magic of the night attracted curious travelers from all ends of the Earth, but once they had seen the magic and beauty of the kingdom they found themselves unable to leave. The mysterious nature of the darkness and the shining stars captivated those who saw it…and they stayed there forever.

Each character represents the word that is written on their ribbons. The jokersare one in the same.On one card, he a simple fool, but on the other he uses bait and is cunning.

The Queens are very beautiful, but we can also see their vices. One of them is fragile and has a passion for alcohol. The other one is attached to herjewelry- we can see how she admires her ring. The queen of hearts is beautiful, but she is vain and selfish. The heart of the queen of spades is malicious and her heart is icy.

The king of diamonds (diamonds) – this is the real wizard with whom the story began. The other three kings are only guests in the dark kingdom.

The Jacks stand guard and watch over the Dark Kingdom, defending all that the wizard has taken from the king

The Ace of Diamonds shows us a small rocking horse where all the power of the king of diamonds was hidden from him. The Ace of Clubs is an unusual dragon – a three-headed Russian serpent- the Gorynych.The Ace of Hearts and the Ace of Spades were inspired by the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany; with its towering and imposing spires, hidden courtyards and labyrinthine layout, the castle exudes a sense of mystery and wonder.
