Throughout the history of the Peking Opera, there exists two resplendent opera theaters, known to be the pinnacle of traditional opera stages. One is the Changyin Pavilion (畅音阁) inside the Forbidden City, and the other is the Qingyin Pavilion (清音阁) in the Chengde Mountain Resort. Based on where they are located, it is not difficult to conclude that both these opera theaters were used by the royal family.

The name After Sound (余音) Translated: Lingering Sound was derived from this: Playing one song after another, the sonorous sound reverberates and lingers among the rafters, causing one to appreciate its deep affection, elegance, and splendor.
