Welcome to Iron Hollow – Till Death Do Us Part. Here lies Castle Ravensoul with its spiked towers, in the heart of a passionate and bloody romance evolving into something far darker and greater than you can imagine.

Iron Hollow is a Victorian Gothic Romance, designed and illustrated by Nicolai Aaroe, telling the tragic love story of twelve central characters, all inspired by gothic folklore and legends. It is an illustrative storytelling and a luxurious set of playing cards all at once. This project is the next volume in my Trials playing cards series, and as such carry the same overall artistic style and idea as my Vengeance of Witches project. This project spans over several years of work, with rich character development and unique lore perspectives, constantly evolving.

Ravenclaw features tuck with gothic ornamentation, taking inspiration from gothic portals of mausoleums and Victorian tomb stones, while featuring an iconic raven. It is manufactured with black and silver foil, strategically embossed on a matte, black stock. The red cards color is swapped to blue, and the cards have silver foil gilding.
