The Night at Circus Playing Cards is inspired by the joyful things which, when twisted just slightly off axis, invoke a primal fear of the uncanny. Where performers wear a painted smile, the terror of its inauthenticity, and the panicked realization that the thing smiling back at you in the dark is simply wearing a face and not a person. You find yourself stumbling into the otherworldly “Circus,” an impossible carnival that exists in the perpetual night of another plane. Its lurid lights bleeding into a perpetual, starless night. Its carousel never stops, and the big top casts a shadow that stretches into infinity. Faint, tinny calliope music drifts on an unnatural breeze, a melody that seems to underscore a thousand unheard screams.

Light-up Big Top Tuck Box
Encased in the Big Top Tuck Box, a representation of the Circus’s other-worldly geometry. Unfurl the circus tent, and eerie lamplight ignites. Illuminating the eternal carnival shows of the sleepless, captive performers. Inspired from ARK’s Apollo and Artemis Playing Cards.

Court Cards
The court cards feature the principal performers trapped within the circus. Each holding a piece of the central puzzle. The very nature of the power that created this place. To escape, the player must survive each show and solve their riddles.

In The Puppet Show, are the wooden and porcelain figures of trapped souls of the Circus’ past attendees.

Number Cards
The number cards are fragments of a larger puzzle. Each edition represents a different tent within the eternal carnival, and the riddles etched into these cards are the only way to solve the secret of the unsleeping circus.

Special Editions feature a metallic cold-foil crackle, reflecting the subtle tear in reality that accompanies every performance of the Circus.

Card Backs
Designed for the discerning player, this deck features a 2-way card back. Each Edition features its own unique back design, representing the entrance to its respective tent. At the center of every card, a grand carnival arch rises, fashioned after the shape of each respective mascot’s mouth.

Holographic Foil Gilded Edges
Special Editions come with a holographic gilded edge, which transform a simple riffle into a cascade of shimmering color, a color-shifting edge that catches the light from every angle, a constant reminder of the unnatural nature of the Circus.
