SPQR is a historical set of playing cards, based on real, antique artwork and depicting the iconic time period of the Roman Emperors and the Italian governance and culture, which has influenced the entire world. The Legatum edition features gold gilded 1-way cards. The 12 most iconic Roman Emperors are featured as the face cards. The illustrations are historical paintings and engravings from the 17th century.

The number cards feature 36 mini illustrations to highlight some of the rural and urban Roman inventions that transformed ancient society and laid foundations for modern infrastructure, engineering, and agriculture.
