Deck Details

Full Description

A monument that breathes eternal love and artistic splendor. Every detail of its architecture, every change of light on its white marble, evokes beauty and emotion. That inspiration takes shape in a creation that unites history, art, and luxury: TAJ MAHAL.

This new proposal by Nova Lux Decks, illustrated by Ritu Bhattacharya (Old Gravity) and developed together with her husband Bivas, pays tribute to the Mughal legacy through a deck illustrated with great delicacy. After traveling to the monuments that inspired this project, they have captured on paper the majesty of the Taj Mahal and the richness of its craftsmanship.

The Aces are authentic works of art, inspired by Mughal floral and geometric motifs. Each card blends symmetry with nature, combining mathematical precision and ornamental delicacy. The Court cards evoke the grandeur of Mughal emperors and princesses. Embroidered garments with gold and silver threads, gem-inlaid jewelry, and majestic turbans reflect an era where beauty and power went hand in hand. The Jokers depict the Taj Mahal split into two halves, with skies highlighted by metallic foil: gold for the Day Edition. The back design presents a floral motif inspired by Mughal craftsmanship, symmetrical and ornate, reminiscent of inlay and filigree work found in historical monuments. The decks are printed by Kingstar on premium quality paper with a black core linen finish, while the tuck cases feature embossing, metallic foiling, and die-cut arches inspired by the architectural motifs of the Taj Mahal.

The Day Edition reflects the radiance of the Taj Mahal under the sun. Its tuck case combines blue and gold in a foiled pattern that shifts depending on the angle, as if imitating the sky. The bluish-cyan gilded edges evoke the clarity of daylight, while the cards fan out in a golden spread, with the elegance of a peacock adorned in jewels.
