In January I was asked to speak on behalf of my class (1997) at our upcoming Alumni Banquet. This is where anniversary classes give a send off speech to the current graduating class.

In my local area, people typically tell our kids to leave town and never look back. The tell them that our community is dying. While this is true. Our community is dying. My message is to be different to our children. I’m going to tell them to go to college but bring that knowledge back home. I want them to rebuild our community. I want them to bring jobs, bring industry and above all else… bring hope.

I didn’t just want to give a message of hope. I wanted to demonstrate hope itself. I partnered with several newspapers in Pennsylvania to create the first Bicycle Hometown Playing Cards. I wanted to show our kids that Made in America isn’t dead. I wanted to prove that using your creative abilities can still make an impact on a local level.

The first decks within the Bicycle Hometown Series include:

•    Williamsport PA

•    Bradford County PA

•    Centre County PA

•    Lycoming County PA

•    Lackawanna County PA

These decks will feature historical people, places and events that happened within those areas. Each deck is 100% unique!!
